Welcome back to my travel blog. This day I am down in Rio De Janeiro on a layover. Weather is quite nice for a change as it has been raining quite a bit down here of late, but alas, it turned out to be a fine day. After I woke up anyway. Staying at the Intercontinental Hotel
, south of Copa Cabana and Ipenema, on the beach in an area know as Sao Conrado. The night ended with us having a great dinner at a Churrascaria in Barra called Barra Grill.
Overeat..oh yes I did. The selection of sushi and grilled meats was superb though the prices have risen since I last went there and with the falling exchange rate for the dollar against the Real. Oh well, It was worth it.
Woke up Tuesday morning to another fantastic day. The weather looks like it will hold for a while so after making these entries and checking email I plan on going for a run and maybe stopping for a bit to watch the hang gliders and paragilders that launch off a mountaintop on the south end of the beach. I guess that after that I will work some more on our travel website, Travel-Ascending . Then we will head for home once again back to MIA. Next day my family and I depart on our annual snowboard / ski vacation. This year we are headed to Steamboat Springs, Colorado. I can't hardly wait as the snow this year is at near record levels. Barring any unforeseen consequences I will be back on another trip to Rio in about two weeks and I will report on our Colorado vacation. Until then...
